- One of the benefits of the Trail Crew is the list of Trail Runs that are organized throughout the year. The purpose of displaying the trail info is to get others to join in. See what you like and ask questions if there is a trip that interests you. These range from hard-core rock crawling to expedition trips spanning many days, all the way to large TLCA events such as Rubithon.
To the right you will notice that there are several icons and what their meanings are. We will make every attempt to display these icons PER RUN so that you will have a better idea on what to expect on a particular run. These icons are to be used for guidelines only and not as a definitive guide for the trail conditions. Many factors can change a trial from one day to another.
Truckhaven Hills
March 6-8, 2009 | Trail Leader: Dave West
This run is known as the Tierra Del Sol Desert Safari sponsored by the Tierra Del Sol Four Wheel Drive Club of San Diego. An excerpt from their website:

"This year we are returning to the Truckhaven hills in the Northern Area of the Ocotillo Wells State Vehicular Recreation Area, for a weekend of exceptional wheeling, awesome vendors, world famous raffles and the opportunity to support the fight to keep our lands open. Base camp and TDS headquarters will be located 23 miles east from Christmas Circle (Borrego Springs) on S-22 or 3.0 miles west of state highway 86. The exact GPS coordinates are N 33 15.691 W 116 00.857. It is hard to fathom that a family oriented group of 4-wheeling enthusiasts created a club named Tierra Del Sol and have been organizing an event like Desert Safari since 1964, but it is true, and quite frankly we need the offroading communities support to keep it going."
Hungry Valley
March 22, 2009 | Trail Leader: Jeff L.
This run takes you into Gorman. You can read up about the area by visiting the CA State Park's website. An excerpt:
"The wide variety of trails at Hungry Valley provides excitement for both beginner and experienced off-roaders. For experienced OHVers challenging trails can be found in the hills and sand washes of the back- country section of the SVRA. Beginners can enjoy the scenery and relative ease of the trails in the Native Grasslands Management Area. Trails in the adjoining Los Padres National Forest are recommended for experienced riders only."
Tinbenders Johnson Valley Clean Up
April 25, 2009 | Trail Leader: ???
This run takes you Johnson Valley. An excerpt from Tin Bender's website:

"We are proud to host the 6th annual "Tin Bender Johnson Valley Cleanup in association with Poly Performance". This fun filled weekend will be held April 25th, 2009 and include the same format as the previous Jamboree's with trail sign ups and a broad range of wheeling.
Our event will have a signup fee of $40 pre-sale, $50 on-site. This year, Poly Performance has agreed to step in and help with the logistics so that we have a more productive weekend. We are focusing on making the Johnson Valley OHV area a cleaner, more pleasurable place to recreate. Each trail run participant will be responsible for the cleanup of a specific area within Johnson Valley.
With each paid registration you will receive two meal tickets for dinner Saturday, a TinBenders.org/ PolyPerformance.com coozie, and 1 raffle ticket. For those of you who have been to one of our jamborees before, you know how wonderful the odds for our raffle are, and you can't buy tickets for the raffle."
